Come Trail Ride With Us!
Patchwork offers trail rides for all levels of riders. Ride through open fields of wildflowers, wooded areas, and the 130 miles of maintained trails in the Brookfield Trail System and local trails. Enjoy relaxing trail rides with your new equine friend while learning the history of the area. You may encounter deer, turkey, wildflowers, and wild berries, and you will be able to see old house foundations, cemeteries, and old campsites. Your guide will help you identify any flowers as you pass them.
No matter which horse or mule you are on, rest assured that our variety of horses and mules are guaranteed to suit all needs and levels of riding.
Please bring “treats” such as carrots or apples for your horse, after his ride, of course.

1.5 Hour Trail Ride for 2: 2 people for 1.5 hours. Skills include up and down hills, riding grass meadows, and steering your horse. Enjoy the scenery of deer, turkey wild berries and more on local trails. Please advise as to size of children/age when booking.

We offer a 3-hour trail ride for two people, which includes a scenic ride through Brookfield state land and a lunch stop at the Lean-to where you must bring your own lunch. Looking for a leisurely way to enjoy the natural scenery of Brookfield? Join us on this 3-hour ride for 3 people. After completing our scenic ride, we'll dismount and tie our horses at the Lean-to. Then, we'll get our legs stretching and enjoy a lunch, which you must bring yourself.

About Brookfield Trail System
The highly acclaimed Brookfield Trail System has over 130 miles of horse and snowmobile trails set throughout three state forests (Charles Baker State Forest, Brookfield Railroad State Forest, and Beaver Creek State Forest). These three forests collectively provide 13,750 acres of public reforestation lands. The Charles Baker State Forest totals over 9,400 acres in southeast Madison County alone and makes up the core area for the Brookfield Trail System. The trail system includes grassy meadows, primitive camping, ponds, creeks, truck trails and more.
Brookfield trail map bandanas are available for $10 each at barn.
